JoSAA 2020 registration update: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is all set to start the registration for counselling process tentatively on October 6, according to reports.

While the complete schedule is yet to be announced and counselling dates were disclosed through JEE Advanced brochure, JoSAA counselling process is conducted for B.Tech admissions into IITs, IIITs, NITs and GFTIs respectively.

Candidates, after the registering for JoSAA 2020 counselling, will also be required to enter their preference of institutes and engineering courses they wish to get admission into before the last date.

They should keep in mind that this will be followed by announcement of seat allocations in seven rounds after each round of JoSAA counselling.

Step 3: Mock seat allotment

Step 4: Announcement of seat allotment result

Step 5: Payment of seat acceptance fees

Step 6: Reporting of candidates at reporting centres

Step 7: Confirmation of admission by allotted institute

Candidates, who qualify JEE Main 2020, will be eligible for admissions into IIITs, NITs and GFTIs while the top 2,50,000 rank holders will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced as well.

 While the JEE Main Exam is scheduled to be held from September 1-6, the JEE Advanced will be conducted on September 27. However, Registration for the JEE Advanced 2020 will commence on September 11.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority, abbreviated as JoSAA,  has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 107 institutes for the academic year 2019-20. This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and 28 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Admission to all the academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through a single platform.
