PhD Admission 2022: PhD is the short form for the Doctorate of Philosophy, is a degree that concentrates mostly on research than academics. A PhD degree takes three years to finish on average, but students can accomplish it in as little as five years if they work hard enough. Students can select a particular subject to get specialization in the research done at PhD level. In both forms either merit or entrance exam, the admissions can be taken from the Universities of India. For PhD admissions, various IIMs and IITs in India have opened their application portal.

Eligibility Criteria for PhD Admission

A student will be offered the PhD admissions after he/she meets the following criteria:

  • Students with any relevant PG or M.Phil degree are eligible to apply for the PhD programme.
  • Previously studied the discipline at the master’s level will be taken into account.
  • The required qualifying marks needed for students to be eligible are 55% on a minimum basis.

PhD Admission Fee Structure

In India, various institutes offer a doctorate degree and each of these has a different fee structure. An average PhD fee range is INR 15000 to 250000.

Application Form or Admission Procedure

The admission Procedure for PhD is online and based on entrance/merit based. Certain Universities in India provide merit-based entries for this doctorate degree but in most other Universities these admissions are based on entrance exam scores. These admissions to PhD are based on qualifying for the entrance exam among any of the IIT JAM, GATE, UGC NET, UGC CSIR, and so on.
