There are 592 examination centres in Karnataka where 1,400,000 girls and 1,210,000 boys will take the exam. 121 centres out of the 592 centres are located in Bengaluru.
KCET is a gateway for admission into professional courses for government share of seats in Medical, Dental, Indian systems of medicine and Homeopathy, Engineering / Architecture Courses, Farm Science i.e. BSc (Agriculture), BSc (Sericulture), BSc (Horticulture), BSc Agri Bio Tech, BHSc (Home Science), among other professional courses.
This year marks the first time that the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) administers the CET for BSc nursing programmes.
According to KEA, approximately 16,000 non-Kannadiga students are registered for this exam and are exempt from taking the mandatory Kannada exam.
However, the mandatory Kannada exam for Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga students will be administered on May 22.
Marks evaluation
Officials from the KEA also stated that, as with every year, students will be evaluated based on 50% of their PUC marks and 50% of their CET marks.
