Adam Driver was born in San Diego, California, on November 19, 1983. Adam was only seven years old when his parents divorced. He relocated to Indiana with his mother and older sibling. Adam’s upbringing was anything but typical. He and his sister were reared by their mother, who struggled financially.

Despite their hardships, Adam’s mother instilled in him a passion for the arts. She encouraged him to pursue his acting passion and even paid for him to attend a Mishawaka performing arts secondary school. During his time at this school, Driver realised he wanted to pursue acting as a career and began to treat his craft seriously.

Driver enrolled at the University of Indianapolis after high school to pursue drama. However, after only one year he pulled out and joined the United States Marine Corps. Due to a mountain biking tragedy, Driver was discharged from the Marine Corps after nearly three years of service.

Driver returned to Indiana following his discharge and began performing in local theatre productions. In 2009, he earned his first role on the television show The Unusuals after relocating to New York City to pursue acting professionally. Then, from 2012 to 2017, he portrayed Adam Sackler on the critically acclaimed HBO series Girls.
