Reynolds attended Florida State University and Palm Beach High School prior to being awarded a college football scholarship. He wanted to play football professionally. Nevertheless, he suffered an injury during his rookie year and then was hurt in a car accident. His aspirations of playing football were dashed, and he started to think about becoming a police officer. He was a student at Palm Beach Junior High School in Lake Worth when he was persuaded to take part in the play “Outward Bound” by one of his teachers. He was given a Florida State Drama Award for it.

During this time, Reynolds played roles in low-budget foreign films and two cop television series called “Hawk” and “Dan August.” He released the album “Ask Me What I Am” and sang a duet with Dolly Parton in “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” in 1973, when he first started to develop his singing abilities. Reynolds co-starred with Jerry Reed, Sally Field, and Jackie Gleason in the 1977 movie “Smokey and the Bandit.” He played the lead role in the 1990 C.B.C. television series “Evening Shade.” Reynolds made a comeback to acting in 1996 with the popular “Striptease,” and he followed that up the following year with the blockbuster “Boogie Nights,” for which he won a Golden Globe. He dated Dinah for five years in the early 1970s. He was married to American actress Loni Anderson for nearly five years, from 1988 to 1994. The couple’s son, Quinton, was adopted. This marriage ended due to his adulterous affair with waitress Pam Seals. His relationship with Seals ended as a result of lawsuits, which the two ultimately resolved outside of court. After divorcing actress Loni Anderson, Reynolds filed for bankruptcy in 1996. On September 6, 2018, Burt Reynolds, who was 82 years old at the time of his death in Florida, passed away after a heart attack.
