Early Life

The American citizen Alyssa Michelle Stephens, better known by her stage name Latto, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 22, 1998. She began establishing her reputation at the age of ten, and since 2016, she has released music regularly. Latto previously participated in “The Rap Game,” a reality competition, and won. In 2016, she dropped her debut track, “No More Talking.” In 2017, Latto launched Pittstop Clothing, her own clothing line. Her major break came with “B**h from da Souf” in 2019.

Career

In 2019, she performed at Miami, Florida’s Rolling Loud annual hip-hop event. Later that year, Latto’s second EP project, “Hit The Latto,” included a remixed version of “B**h from da Souf.” Her major-label debut project, “Queen of Da Souf,” was released in 2020 and has had over 300 million streams globally. Other noteworthy tracks from the project are Gucci Mane’s “Muwop” featuring Inna and City Girls’ “In n Out,” which has since been certified R.I.A.A. Gold.

In 2021, the remixed version of “Muwop” achieved platinum certification from R.I.A.A., making Latto the first Atlanta-based solo female rapper to do so. The lead track from Latto’s upcoming studio album, “Big Energy” (2022), has already been released. Additionally, collaborations with other musicians, such as 21 Savage, will be featured on the album.
