Madison Kennedy Biography: American sprint freestyle swimmer Madison Kennedy was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on December 22, 1987. She swims with DC Trident in the International Swimming League. Early Life

Madison Kennedy, an American swimmer, has dedicatedly served on the American national team for nearly a decade. Kennedy attended Rutgers University to play collegiately for two years before transferring to Cal Berkeley to finish her NCAA eligibility. Kennedy graduated from Cal Berkeley with a degree in psychology in 2010. After that, she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she started working for Lululemon, teaching Barre sessions, and receiving training.

Career

Kennedy was born in Avon, Connecticut, to Jordana and James Kennedy. Kennedy was just four years old when she started swimming. Even though she played a lot of different sports in middle and high school, such as soccer, lacrosse, and horseback riding, she decided to focus just on swimming when she went on to play Division 1 collegiate swimming. In 2014, Kennedy made a comeback at SwimMAC Carolina, where she was exercising alongside David Marsh. She became well-known for her skill in rope climbing.

Kennedy’s freshman and sophomore years at Rutgers University left an immediate impression on me. In her rookie year, she placed honorably on the All-American team for five events at the 2006 NCAA Championships: the 50 and 100 freestyle, as well as the 450, 4100, and 4200-yard freestyle relays. She also broke the school 50-yard freestyle record. In her sophomore year, she would go on to smash school records in the 50 and 100-yard freestyles. In her final year of college eligibility, Kennedy won three more All-American titles in the 50 free, 4×50 free relay, and 4×50 medley relay events.
