Steve-O Biography: Stephen Gilchrist Glover, born on June 13, 1974, is an American artist, television personality, and stuntman best known as Steve-O. His career is centred on his stunt performance in the reality comedy television series “Jackass” (2000 — 2002); its related films “Jackass: The Movie” (2002), “Jackass Number Two” (2006), “Jackass 2.5” (2006), “Jackass 3D” (2010), “Jackass 3.5” (2011), and “Jackass Forever” (2022); and its spin-off series “Wildboyz” Join Steve-O’s fans worldwide in celebrating his special day.

Stephen Gilchrist Glover, born on June 13, 1974, is an American artist, television personality, and stuntman best known as Steve-O. His mother, Donna Gay Glover, was Canadian, while his father, Richard Edward ‘Ted’ Glover, is an American of English ancestry. His family relocated to Brazil when he was six months old due to his father’s position as president of Pepsi-Cola’s South American division. At the age of two, his family moved from Brazil to Venezuela, where he learned Spanish fluently; at the age of four, he moved to Darien, Connecticut; at the age of six, he moved to Miami, Florida; at the age of nine, he returned to England; at the age of twelve, he moved to Toronto, Ontario; and at the age of thirteen, he returned to England for four years of high school at the American School, London, where he graduated.

He enrolled in the School of Communications at the University of Miami for one year but dropped out due to poor academics and disobedience. In addition, he attended the University of New Mexico from 1996 to 1997 and Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Clown College from 1997 to 1997. After graduating, he was not chosen to join the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, but he did perform as a clown in a circus at the Fort Lauderdale Swap Shop flea market. During this time, he filmed his exploits, including his clown performances.

While performing in a flea market circus, Steve-O began submitting videos of himself to Jeff Tremaine, the editor of “Big Brother” magazine at the time and the current director of “Jackass.” Once the connection was made, Steve-O began working on the MTV series “Jackass,” which was an instant success. On the September 2, 2020 episode 261 of the “TigerBelly” podcast with Bobby Lee and Khalyla Kuhn, Steve-O discussed his family life. Steve-O disclosed that his mother experienced an aneurysm in 1998, prior to his ascent to prominence. The aneurysm left her with severe cognitive and physical impairments, and she died in 2003. Donna Gover returned from England after suffering an aneurysm, despite being divorced from Steve-O’s biological father. Richard Gover, Steve-O’s father, is still alive and pleased of his son’s accomplishments.

Steve-O disclosed that his girlfriend dumped him for dropping out of school due to his poor grades, prompting him to begin filming and videotaping his stunts, eventually earning him a role in “Jackass.”

At least two of his exploits resulted in his arrest for “presiding over” an injury-causing stunt.

Steve-O released an album in 2011 titled “The Dumbest in Hip Hop” with the cover text “Never before has a rapper been so… stupid.”

For many years, he relied on drugs and alcohol to perform his insane feats, but in 2008 he decided to quit, and his dogs were instrumental in his recovery.
