Stevie Nicks Birthday

Stevie Nicks is a well-known figure in the rock music industry, and her endearing personality has won the hearts of both young and elderly. Nicks was born Stephanie Nicks in Phoenix, Arizona on May 26, 1948. Her zodiac sign is Gemini, and she is of German, English, and Irish descent. She is Jess and Barbara Nicks’ daughter. When she was four years old, her grandfather Aaron Jess Nicks introduced her to music and taught her to sing duets with him.

As a youth, Nicks moved frequently across the country. At the age of 16, she received a ‘Goya’ Guitar and proceeded to write her first composition, ‘I’ve Loved and Lost, and I’m Sad but Not Blue.’ She spent a great deal of time creating and listening to music, ultimately joining her first band, the Changing Times, in California when she was a senior in high school. Nicks and Buckingham met during Buckingham’s senior year of high school. In 1972, they began composing and recording songs as a duo. They quickly signed with Polydor Records and released their debut album “Buckingham Nicks” in 1973. The album was poorly received, but the duo persisted. In 1974, she joined Fleetwood Mac after drummer Mick Fleetwood and Buckingham invited her. Rolling Stone voted Nick’s song “Rhiannon” as one of the “500 Greatest Songs of All Time.” Fleetwood Mac released their debut album in 1975, titled “Fleetwood Mac,” and Nick’s song “Rhiannon” was named one of the “500 Greatest Songs of All Time” by Rolling Stone. Landslip was another success. Nicks sang ‘Dreams’ on their second album, “Rumours” (1976), on which they released. It went on to become the only number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100. In 1978, the album was named Album of the Year after becoming a best-seller in 1977. Nicks went on to record another album with the band, “Tusk” (1979), while simultaneously composing and recording demos for a solo project. Nicks co-founded Modern Records in 1980 with Danny Goldberg and Paul Fishkin, where her songs were recorded and disseminated. The album “Bella Donna” (1981) topped the Billboard 200 charts, garnering her the moniker “The Reigning Queen of Rock-and-Roll.” Her second album “The Wild Heart” (1983) was certified platinum, and her third album “Rock a Little” (1985) was commercially successful. After that, Nicks released numerous successful albums, the majority of them solo and some with her former band, Fleetwood Mac.

Nicks was in a long-term relationship with Lindsey Buckingham until early 1976, when it ceased. She was temporarily married to Kim Anderson. They divorced soon after, but Nicks maintained contact with her stepson. The singer confirmed that she had romantic relationships with several of her musician acquaintances, including Mike Fleetwood and Don Henley. As a solo musician, Nicks has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards.
