Interestingly, she competed in the 1978 Miss Georgia U.S.A. competition. In 1979, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. However, her joy was cut short in 1980 when her mother passed away from ovarian cancer.
The first time White appeared on the game show “The Price Is Right” changed her life for the better. The episode debuted on 20 June 1980. White’s co-hosting role on “Wheel of Fortune” in 1982 was the turning point in her career. She married restaurateur and real estate investor George Santo Pietro in 1990. In 2002, the couple with two children decided to end their marriage. Despite her decades-long prominence on television, White has successfully concealed her private life.
