He was the first player to achieve at least 10 rebounds, 25 points, and four assists in a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament after accumulating wins and losses at Duke. He won multiple honours in 2018, including the Jordan Brand Classic, The Nike Hoop Summit, and McDonald’s All-American. In 2019, he inked a five-year, $75 million shoe deal with Jordan. Williamson was drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2019 NBA Draught that same year. He won several accolades in 2019, including A.C.C. Player of the Year, A.C.C. Tournament Most Valuable Player, and the Karl Malone Award. Williamson made history in 2021 when he scored 36 points in a 143-130 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, becoming the youngest NBA player with a 90% shooting percentage.

Williamson is a true basketball gentleman. In 2020, he promised to pay the salaries of all Smoothie King Centre employees for 30 days. During the offseason, he suffered a foot fracture and required surgery.
