The court said that the golden period of any student starts after passing the inter examination. After giving the Inter Science examination in 2012, the board declared the first class pass result in 2020 after eight years.
The Patna High Court, after hearing the case of non-issuance of certificate after passing the board examination on two separate cases, imposed a fine of Rs.10 lakh in one case and Rs.5 lakh in the other. A single bench of Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma imposed the fine after hearing the applications filed by Saraswati Kumari, a student of Adarsh Higher Secondary of Nawada district and Gauri Shankar Sharma, a student of BKSKS Inter College, Begusarai.
The court said that the golden period of any student starts after passing the inter examination. After giving the Inter Science examination in 2012, the board declared the first class pass result in 2020 after eight years. At the same time, in the second case, after passing the matriculation examination from the first division, the board withheld the mark sheet and certificate as the school had not deposited the registration fee with the board. Due to this, the board did not send the results of the students to the school and the students could not take their results while the board was preparing and keeping the results of the students with them.
The court said that according to the records of the board, the certificate of the students was prepared in 2016 itself and the provisional certificate was signed in 2019. Since then the board is with it which is not justified in any way. The student lost an important six years of his life like this. The court imposed a fine of five lakhs on the board and ordered it to be given to the student.
The golden period of a student’s life is spoiled
The court said that due to the slowness of the board, the golden period of a student’s life was spoiled. The result of the girl child has not been declared. The representations made from time to time were also ignored. The court ordered to pay Rs 10 lakh as exemplary compensation to the student. Also said that even this amount is not enough as his entire future has gone in vain.
