Coaching Class For Nomads: Army undertakes noble initiative, starts coaching classes for nomad children

Coaching Class For Nomads: Continuing its benevolence and commitment to education and community welfare. The Indian Army has started a commendable effort to provide training classes (teaching) to Gujjar and Bakarwal children. They are living in the higher and remote areas of Poonch, Reas and Rajouri districts.

“This visionary project, which will run from August 2023 to November 2023. It aims to provide these youth with quality education and an open path to a brighter future.” Defense Minister Jammu Lt Col Suneel Bartwal said on Thursday.

Kollane Bartwal said, “Taking the lead in this important project. The Indian Army unit at Samotel initiated training sessions tailored to the unique needs of these nomadic tribal children.”

“Approximately 500 children will benefit from this initiative. It is timed precisely with the migration season. Also ensuring that education reaches even the most hard-to-reach corners of the aforementioned areas.”

Sharing more details, Col Bartwal said, “Training classes will be held at key locations. It  includes Banj, Makhidhar, Dhakikot, Kalaban, Chakal Hawalan, Balmatkot, Shikari Bowl and Kesri Hill.”

Addressing the educational challenges faced by the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities. Colonel Barywal said, “The Indian Army is not only bridging the learning gap but also fostering a renewed interest in learning among these young learners.”

The army spokesperson further stated that this coaching class for nomads initiative is a testament to the Indian Army’s commitment to creating opportunities for marginalized communities and equipping them with the tools to succeed in today’s competitive world.
