EMRS Eklavya schools recruitment: 38800 teachers vacancy, said Nirmala Sitharaman

EMRS Eklavya schools recruitment: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made a major announcement in the general budget for the fiscal year 2023-24, stating that 38,800 teachers and support staff will be recruited in 740 Eklavya schools across the country over the next three years. 3.5 million tribal students attend these schools. Nirmala Sitharaman stated that the budget for Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) has increased significantly from Rs 1,418.04 crore to Rs 596.96 crore. In 2021, there was a budget of Rs 1,418.04 crores, which increased to Rs 2,000 crores in 2022-23. The programme assists residential schools for Native American students.

In December 2022, the government informed Parliament that 41 percent of positions (2,892) in Eklavya schools were vacant.

Other important education-related announcements

There will be a national digital library established. In addition, there will be an emphasis on establishing separate libraries at the state level.

Since 2014, 157 new medical colleges have been established. Will prepare for medical school research.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman listed seven budget priorities. Infrastructure, green growth, the financial sector, and youth power are examples.

The National Book Trust and the Children’s Book Trust will provide physical libraries with books in local languages and English.

In key locations, 157 new nursing colleges will be constructed.

According to the National Education Policy, skill development will be prioritised. Employment-creating economic policies will be prioritised. In the next three years, the PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 will be launched to train lakhs of young people.

In three years, 47 million youths will receive a stipend. A national apprenticeship programme will be implemented.
