Gandhi Jayanti Celebrated at AMU Centres and Schools

In Hindi, English, and Urdu, respectively, Mrs. Sheeba Siddiqui, Mrs. Anjum Anwar, and Mr. Mohd Merajuddin Nadwi voiced their opinions. Additionally, Plantation and Cleanliness Drive occurred.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebrated: At Gandhi Jayanti events hosted at the centres and schools of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), a thorough discussion of Mahatma Gandhi’s beliefs, principles, and life’s journey was held. On this occasion, the Swachhta Hi Seva Aabhiyan cleanliness campaign was also held.

At the Academic Block, a programme was put on by the Department of Business Administration at the AMU Kishanganj Centre.

While Prof. Perwez Nazir, Department of History, recounted various incidents from Mahatma Gandhi’s life and his influence around the world, Prof. Hassan Imam, Director of the Centre, spoke about Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughtful conversation with Britishers about the laws and policies in favour of the people of India.

Dr. Mohd Shahzad Alam, from the Department of Business Administration, gave a welcome message to kick off the programming.

Zerafsah Khanam (MBA) and Tanishka Varshney (MBA) both gave addresses, one in Hindi and the other in English. A vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Faiz Mohammad.

The programme was directed by Zeba Chauhan (MBA) and Janvi Deep Banker.

The principal of AMU Girls’ School, Ms. Amna Malik, led a special assembly in which she gave a biography of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, emphasising his commitment to truth and non-violence.

The student-led choir enthusiastically sung patriotic tunes.

The audience learned more about Mahatma Gandhi’s beliefs through special speeches that included quotes and messages from Gandhi.

At this event, Tayyaba Fatima Mazhar of Class XII (Humanities) was named the school’s Head Girl for the academic year 2022–2023.

The celebration at Abdullah School featured remarks by the school’s superintendent, Mrs. Umra Zaheer, on Mahatma Gandhi’s sacrifices and philosophy.

In Hindi, English, and Urdu, respectively, Mrs. Sheeba Siddiqui, Mrs. Anjum Anwar, and Mr. Mohd Merajuddin Nadwi voiced their opinions. Additionally, Plantation and Cleanliness Drive occurred. Ms. Lubna Imtiaz, the cultural coordinator, oversaw the programme.

The Mahatma Gandhi portrait was decorated with flowers at the Ahmadi School for the Visually Impaired.

The Principal, Dr. Naila Rashid, emphasised the ideals and rules upheld by the Father of the Nation.

 

In a Hindi speech, Dr. Bablu Quraishi discussed the sacrifices made by Gandhiji throughout the freedom movement.

Gandhiji’s favourite bhajan “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram” was sung by Mr. Sirajuddin Shaikh and the pupils.

At the event was Lady Superintendent Miss Shahin Parveen.
