JEE Advanced 2023: First ranker V Chidvilas Reddy wants to study Computer Science course at IIT Bombay

JEE Advanced 2023: V Chidvilas Reddy from Telangana, who topped the IIT entrance exam JEE-Advanced, for which the results were released on Sunday, said he anticipated to place in the top 10 and was ecstatic to achieving All India Rank 1. IIT Guwahati, which administered the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-Advanced this year, reported that Reddy scored 341 out of a possible 360 points.

Reddy is from the Telangana district of Nagarkurnool, and both of his parents are government teachers.

“I am extremely pleased and elated. I anticipated to be in the top 10, but I came in first,” Reddy told the PTI.

The 17-year-old, who attributes his success to his family, instructors, and mentors, stated that he intends to study Computer Science at IIT Bombay and would like to pursue research in the future.

Reddy, who placed fifteenth in JEE Mains, stated, “I enjoy science and mathematics.” Everyone in my family and instructors gave me a great deal of support.”

He stated that his preparation for the exam was adequate, and for the past two years he has ceased playing cricket and avoided social media.

“Six months prior to taking the JEE, I studied eight to ten hours per day. During the last two months, I studied 11 to 12 hours per day,” he said, adding that staying concentrated was the key to success.

“It was a youthful ambition of mine to attend IIT, and I made the decision on my own. This year’s exam was simpler, according to Reddy, who studied at the Sri Chaitanya Institute in Hyderabad.

Reddy’s father V Rajeshwar Reddy stated that his son only focused on his studies and did not view films.

Similarly, Nayakanti Naga Bhavya Sree from the IIT Hyderabad zone, the top female candidate with 298 marks, attributed her success to her parents’ unwavering support throughout this voyage, as well as to her teachers at Narayana Educational Institution.

Bhavya Sree, who is from the Andhra Pradesh district of Kadapa, stated, “Whenever I felt down, my parents would always encourage me. I would like to thank my parents, family, and teachers for their support.

IIT-JEE Advanced had a total of 1,80,372 applicants, of which 43,773 have qualified. In 2023, as many as 36,204 male and 7,509 female candidates passed JEE Advanced.

JEE-Main, the entrance exam for engineering schools across the nation, is a prerequisite for JEE-Advanced. The examination was held on June 4.

Counselling for the Joint Seat Allocation (JoSAA) will commence on Monday.
