KVS TGT Teacher Recruitment Exam: City head of exam conducting agency arrested

On Sunday, Manish Kumar Rastogi, the Varanasi city head of Aptech, an online exam conducting agency, was arrested. Manish was also a member of the Solver gang.

KVS Teacher Recruitment Exam: The Varanasi STF has made another arrest after apprehending a gang that used hacking to solve the question paper in the online recruitment examination for primary teachers at Kendriya Vidyalaya. On Sunday, Manish Kumar Rastogi, the Varanasi city head of Aptech, an online exam conducting agency, was arrested. Manish was also a member of the Solver gang.

The STF apprehended Manish Kumar Rastogi, a resident of New Saket Nagar Colony (Lanka), from Gilat Bazar. A case has been filed against him in the police stations of Shivpur, Chitaipur, and Chaubepur. Candidates were only apprehended in the centre of these police station areas.

Chittaranjan Sharma, the gang’s leader and a resident of Palwal (Haryana), used to operate the gang in Varanasi through Manish Rastogi, according to STF ASP Vinod Kumar Singh. During the interrogation of the previously arrested centre operators – Deepak Singh of Chunar (Mirzapur), Sapauli, Bhuvanesh Kumar of Koshikala (Mathura), and Akhilesh Kumar of Barthara Khurd – Manish’s name came up (Chaubeypur).

Joined the gang about a year ago.

During an STF interrogation, Manish Rastogi stated that Aptech has established centres for online examinations. He was in charge of making sure the exams ran smoothly. For a year, he was a member of the solver gang, which cheated in online competitive exams by hacking. He’d also connected some exam centres to the solver gang. He used to take Rs. to help them copy, according to the set candidates on behalf of the gang at these centres. Many gangs are currently involved in this racket, according to STF.

22 people were imprisoned, including a gangster and the mayor of the city.

The STF arrested 22 people on Sunday, including the mastermind of the solver gang, Aptech city head Manish Rastogi, centre directors Deepak Singh, Bhuvanesh Kumar, and Akhilesh Kumar, and the candidates.

Doubts on previous exams as well

Following the Corona call, hackers and salvors collaborated to hack online examinations in a high-tech manner. The previous examinations conducted in the examination centres where the solvers were arrested have also been scrutinised.
