According to him, while the new recruits have been offered remuneration in accordance with the 7th CPC for UGC pay scales, the current faculty members have not benefited from this scheme.
The faculty members of Pandit Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts, Rohtak (PLCSUPVA) began a sit-in inside the campus on Tuesday to get their demand met after repeated attempts to obtain UGC pay scales failed.
Indranil Ghosh, president of the PLCSUPVA teachers’ association, expressed extreme disappointment that the administration has failed to implement the 7th CPC, increments, and promotions in the UPC pay scales for over a decade.
According to him, while the new recruits have been offered remuneration in accordance with the 7th CPC for UGC pay scales, the current faculty members have not benefited from this scheme.
“The founding faculty members of the university have worked assiduously to establish the institution’s legacy of academic excellence. “However, it is disheartening to see their efforts undermined by the university administration’s failure to distribute the benefits,” he added.
He stated that the founding members have democratically adopted the protest mode to voice their grievances and demand equal treatment for all faculty members.
They demanded that the government and acting chancellor-governor take immediate note of their legitimate demand.
