NEET PG 2024: NMC releases tentative admission schedule, exam likely in March 2024

NEET PG 2024: NEET PG Admission 2024: On Wednesday, the National Medical Commission issued a notice clarifying whether NEET PG 2024 will be administered or if the NExT Exam will be implemented next year.

Post Graduate Medical Entrance Education Board (PGMEB) has requested feedback on the Post-Graduate Medical Education Regulations 2023 draught.In case the NExT 2024 does not occur, the National Medical Commission has provided a provisional exam schedule for NEET PG 2024 in the public notice.

The National Exit Examination (NExT) was anticipated to be administered in 2024. On the advice of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the NMC postponed the NExT examination in July 2023. “All the stakeholders are hereby informed that the National Exit Test (NEXT) examination has been postponed on the advice of the Ministry dated 11.07.2023 until further instructions from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare,” reads the NMC’s public notice

Public Notice Regarding NEET PG 2024

The NEET PG is anticipated to persist for at least one additional year. The draught states, “Until the first batch based on National Exit Test (NExT) becomes eligible for admission in Broad Speciality, the existing system of admission through National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET-PG) as per Post-Graduate Medical Education Regulation, 2000 (PGMER-2000) shall continue.”

If admissions are determined by the National Eligibility Test (Postgraduate) in 2023, the draught provides information about the tentative dates for NEET PG 2023. According to the proposed schedule, the NEET PG 2024 exam is tentatively scheduled for March 2024.
