Know the change in SSSC CGL pattern and selection

The CGL 2022 exam will be held on a changed format. Till now there were three phases (Tier-1, 2 and 3) in this recruitment but now there will be only two phases. The special thing is that the proficiency test i.e. data entry speed test after the three-stage exam will also be held along with the second stage exam. Due to which the time taken in the recruitment process will be reduced to a great extent.

Changes in Phase II Examination The number of questions on Mathematics and English in Phase II examination has been significantly reduced. Mathematics questions have been reduced from 100 to 30 and English questions from 200 to 45. There will be only three papers in the second stage exam. The first paper will be compulsory for all the candidates, which will be held in two sessions. The first session will have three sections. In the first section, 30 questions from Mathematical Ability and Reasoning and General Intelligence i.e. total 60 questions will be asked.

The second section will have 45 questions from English Language & Comprehension and 25 questions from General Awareness i.e. total 70 questions. In the third section, 20 questions from Computer Knowledge will be asked. The data entry speed test will also be conducted in the second session of the first paper itself. Till now this test was done after the written examination. In the second paper 100 questions will be asked from Statistics and in the third paper 100 questions will be asked from General Studies (Finance and Economy). The second paper is Junior Statistical Assistant and the third paper will be given only to the candidates applying for the post of Assistant Audit Officer – Assistant Account Officer.

Till now there were four papers in the second phase recruitment. In the first paper 100 questions were asked from Quantitative Ability i.e. Mathematics, in the second paper 200 questions were asked from English Language and Comprehension, in the third paper 100 questions were asked from Statistics and in the fourth paper 100 questions were asked from General Studies (Finance and Economy). The first and second papers were compulsory for all, while the third paper was to be given only to the junior statistics officer and the fourth paper was to be given only to the candidates applying for the post of assistant audit officer-assistant account officer.

The third phase examination was quite controversial

In the third stage examination, the candidates who were successful in the second stage examination were included. In this stage of examination, candidates had to write essay, abstract, letter or application form. There was a lot of controversy regarding this exam of 100 marks. Sometimes the copy was canceled, sometimes the result came in UFA and sometimes those candidates were disqualified due to the high number of words in the essay, whose marks in the first and second stage examination were very high. Two years ago, the controversy about this stage’s examination had reached the PMO.

Now there will be a question of number three

In the first paper of the second stage examination, which will be compulsory for all, now every question will be of three marks. In the second and third papers, each question will be of two marks each. Under the minus marking, one mark will be deducted for one wrong question of three marks and 0.50 for one wrong question of two marks. Till now the questions of English Language and Comprehension were of number one and the rest were of two marks each. 0.25 marks were deducted for wrong one number question.

First stage exam

There is no change in the first stage exam. In this, 25-25 i.e. a total of 100 questions will be asked from General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension as before. Each question will be of two marks i.e. the whole exam will be of 200 marks.
