Understand concepts to clear medical entrance test: Zeel Vipul, NEET 2022 9th rank

Now his dream is to get admission in the country's top medical institute, AIIMS Delhi.

Daughter of a doctor and pharmacist from Vadodara, Zeel Vipul Vyas has secured 9th rank in the recently released National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2022 results. Now his dream is to get admission in the country’s top medical institute, AIIMS Delhi.

He said, “My father is a doctor and my mother is a pharmacist. Yes, my parents have been the driving force for me to choose medical field, but it was my choice to appear in NEET exam. I was always interested in becoming a doctor,” says the 17-year-old, adding that she is interested in research, but is yet to decide what she will do after MBBS.

An alumnus of CBSE affiliated Bhawan, Vadodara, Gujarat, she has cleared the medical entrance exam with 710 marks out of a total of 720 or 99.9992 percentile. Zeel had scored 99.2 per cent in class 10th and 98 per cent in class 12th. He started preparing for NEET immediately after clearing the 10th standard.

Talking about NEET preparation strategy, like other toppers, he too believes that if one understands the concepts, half the job is done. Understanding the concepts is more important than the number of books in this exam.

“I started with the basics and then gradually moved my preparation to the advanced level. First I need to understand the basic concepts. If we don’t understand the basic concepts then we will not be able to attempt questions on them.”

Zeel further adds, “I stuck to the NEET syllabus and pattern. The last month was for practicing and attempting mock tests. Since class 12th and NEET syllabus is coming together, the study hours for both the exams are covered together.

The syllabus of both is same. It’s all about understanding the concept. If I understand the concept then it is okay for me to attempt both board and medical entrance type questions.”

I also followed the order of question paper and started my exam with Physics, followed by Chemistry, and then Biology. ,
