International Day of Human Fraternity 2024: Every year on February 4, the International Day of Human Fraternity seeks to spread love throughout the world, which is exactly what it needs. love for everyone, regardless of color, caste, or religion. Pope Francis collaborated with Sheikh Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar in Cairo, after observing the growing prevalence of conflict around the world to produce a very remarkable text. Following a six-month writing period, they jointly announced the document’s existence on February 4, 2019, during Pope Francis’ visit to the United Arab Emirates.

The Higher Committee of Human Fraternity was established with the help of a text known as the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together,” which aims to implement the principles it contains. The majority of the members of this group are intellectuals, international religious leaders, and cultural leaders. Members of this Higher Committee met with U.N. General Secretary António Guterres in December 2019 and presented him with a proposal from the Grand Imam and the Pope to designate February 4 as the World Day of Human Fraternity going forward. Soon after, Volkan Bozkir, the president of the U.N. General Assembly, proclaimed February 4 to be World Day of Human Fraternity.

The Higher Committee also established the “Zayed Award for Human Fraternity,” designating a jury of independents to consider nominations and select recipients from among individuals who have devoted their lives to promoting peace, understanding, and human fraternity. On the International Day of Human Fraternity, awards are presented.
