National Inventors’ Day 2024: You are aware of what happens on February 11th! Not at all? Well, we ought to all be celebrating today as National Inventors’ Day! Where could we be if it weren’t for our inventors? What distinguishes humanity from all other species on Earth is our inventiveness, and it is through our innovations that we can track our evolutionary history. It is worthy of celebration that we have come a long way since the development of the wheel. To National Inventors’ Day, I say.

The National Inventors’ Day History

Ronald Reagan, the president of the United States, established National Inventors’ Day in 1983 as a way to recognize and honor the world’s creative inventors. February 11th was selected as the celebration day since it is the birthday of the remarkable American scientist and inventor, Thomas Alva Edison.

Born in Milan, Ohio, in 1847, Edison is credited with inventing numerous significant items, including the motion picture projector, the photograph, and the incandescent electric lamp. During his mature life, Edison was given over a thousand patents.

The purpose of National Inventors’ Day is to honor the innovative and creative spirit that inspires inquisitive and inventive minds to pursue their goals. This is the day to honor those who have brought their dreams to life, whether you are educating children about inventors or reviewing them as an adult!
