National Superhero Day 2023: Date, History, Facts about Superheros

On April 28, 1995, Marvel employees created National Superhero Day to honour everyone’s favourite superhero. We all know that villains do not deserve their own day, so this is only for superheroes. Nevertheless, the purpose of superhero day is to recognise those who serve and protect while combating evil. Regardless of who your favourite hero is, honouring the real or fictional individuals who inspire us on April 28 is a worthwhile cause.

The background of National Superhero Day

National Superhero Day was established by Marvel Comics in 1995, which is unsurprising for a day dedicated to commemorating superheroes. Since its inception on April 28, 1995, people now gather on this day annually to commemorate their favourite heroes. Whether your icons are fictional or real, today is the day to express gratitude for them.

If you’re unfamiliar with Marvel Comics, consider all the childhood superheroes you loved (and presumably still do). We’re discussing Spider-Man, Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow, Captain Marvel, and a multitude of other fan favourites. These characters are from Marvel comics, the same company that created “The Fantastic Four,” “The Avengers,” and “X-Men.” Nevertheless, Marvel superheroes are not the only ones in existence.
