The background of Thomas Paine Day

Thomas Paine was born on February 9, 1737 in Thetford, Norfolk, Great Britain. Although he held a variety of low-paying occupations, he used his savings to purchase educational books. Growing up in his birthplace, he encountered much disappointment and failure until he met Benjamin Franklin in London. Franklin encouraged him to migrate to America and provided him with letters of assistance along the way.

In 1772, he began composing his first pamphlet, “Common Sense,” which was published four years later. As hundreds of thousands of copies were disseminated, it was a success. This work had a substantial impact on the superiority of representative government. Paine then joined General George Washington’s army during the American Revolutionary War. Paine wrote “The American Crisis” to give the troops a sense of optimism after observing their despondency and despondency.

In 1779, following a political career, Paine became the registrar for the Pennsylvania Assembly. During this period, he did not earn much from his writings and government work and sought assistance from the council. Paine subsequently wrote and published “The Rights of Man” in 1791, followed by the three parts of “The Age of Reason.” The latter book received little praise and sparked numerous controversies. As a result of numerous anti-church criticisms, he even lost his credibility for this endeavour. He perished in New York City on June 8, 1809. The “Thomas Paine National Historical Association” implies that locks of his hair and portions of his cranium are in its possession.
