David Lynch created Twin Peaks, which debuted on television in 1990. It intrigued viewers who enjoyed crime and mystery television programmes.
Twin Peaks Day is observed annually on February 24 to commemorate the arrival of FBI Agent Dale Cooper to investigate the death of Laura Palmer. Cooper arrives in town at 10:55 a.m. in “Northwest Passage,” the first episode. Cooper announces the event by saying, “Diane, 11:30 a.m., February 24. Five miles south of the Canadian border and twelve miles west of the state line, Twin Peaks is entered. I have never before witnessed so many trees. According to W.C. Fields, “I’d rather be here than in Philadelphia.” He dictates the preceding into his always-present microcassette recorder for his distant assistant Diane to transcribe in the future.
David Lynch created Twin Peaks, which debuted on television in 1990. It intrigued viewers who enjoyed crime and mystery television programmes. The show was cancelled after its second season, but it remained a fan favourite and gained cult status over time. MacLachlan returned to the sleepy town of Twin Peaks as Agent Cooper 25 years later, when the show was revived in 2017.
Twin Peaks is said to be five miles south of the Canadian border and twelve miles west of the state line, but the filming locations are closer to Puget Sound. Lynch and his crew scouted locations in Snoqualmie, North Bend, and Fall City for the pilot and retained these locations for exterior shots. In 2018, the mayors of Snoqualmie and North Bend proclaimed February 24 Twin Peaks Day in recognition of the show’s impact on tourism over the years.
Despite being cancelled by ABC two seasons after a very strong debut due to declining ratings, Twin Peaks had a significant impact on what followed. It essentially inspired the FBI versus supernatural theme of “The X Files.” The Sopranos, Mad Men, and Breaking Bad are television programmes that feature masterful cinematography, intricate, subtle plotting, and visceral emotional impact. Unique among these are “Twin Peaks'” open-ended strangeness, total commitment to chance, and dream logic.
Without watching the show, Twin Peaks Day is incomplete. Fans begin celebrating Twin Peaks Day shortly after the premiere of the series. Occasionally watch “Twin Peaks” in marathon fashion.
Enjoy pie and coffee on Twin Peaks Day, just as Special Agent Cooper does on the show. Also offer your fan friends pie and coffee.
On Twin Peaks Day, you can visit the filming locations of “Twin Peaks.” Snoqualmie and North Bend are the best places to visit to truly get a feel for the show.
The premiere of the reboot of “Twin Peaks” resulted in the most single-day and weekend subscriptions in Showtime’s history.
“The Warren Commission” is Cooper’s favourite book.
The show’s title was changed after the composer objected to the name “Northwest Passage.”
Angelo Badalamenti composed “Love Theme,” the primary theme music for “Twin Peaks,” in just twenty minutes.
David Lynch has never revealed the true killer.
