The partial solar eclipse will be viewable from a variety of places around the world. The solar eclipse, however, will not be visible in India.

Where can Indians see the solar eclipse?

People in India will not be able to see this year’s solar eclipse, but they will be able to view the online streaming on NASA’s orthographic map, an interactive Google map, and a NASA animation.

Where is the solar eclipse visible?

The eclipse will be visible in parts of Antarctica, Atlantic Ocean just off South America’s southeastern coast including the Falkland Islands, South Pacific and the Southern Ocean. It will also be visible over parts of South America such as Chile, Argentina, most of Uruguay, western Paraguay, southwestern Bolivia, southeastern Peru, and a small area of southwestern Brazil.

Next Solar Eclipse

On October 25, a partial solar eclipse will occur, followed by a partial lunar eclipse on November 8, both of which will be visible in India. On October 25, people in India will be able to see a partial solar eclipse, however it will only last a few minutes right before sunset.

First Lunar Eclipse

On May 16, 15 days after the first Solar Eclipse, the first Lunar Eclipse of the year will occur.
