In 1953, Blavat made his television debut on the very first edition of Bandstand, which broadcast on WFIL-TV, alongside Bob Horn and Lee Stewart. From 1958 to 1959, he served as Don Rickles’ valet. In 1956, he was in charge of Danny and the Juniors’ nationwide tour. He began his career in the radio profession in 1960. A syndicated version of their programme was shown in Camden, Atlantic City, Trenton, Pottstown, Wilmington, and Allentown by 1963.

Blavat, together with Jared Weinstein and Jerry Greene, the founder of Collectables Records, was a partner in the 1960s record labels Lost Nite and Crimson. The three were co-owners of the Record Museum record store chain, which had its headquarters in Philadelphia but has since ceased operations.

Between 1965 and 1967, Blavat was the host and producer of The Discophonic Scene, a weekly television programme. In addition, he was a guest on a number of various television shows, including The Tonight Show, The Joey Bishop Show, The Mod Squad, and The Monkees.
