Santa’s List Day 2023: Christmas List Day is every year on December 4. This is the list that matters in a world full of lists! Today is the day that Santa makes his list of children who have been good or bad. On Christmas Eve, people who are nice get toys, candy, and other gifts. The bad kids might get coal in their presents, or maybe not much at all. But how is this possible for just one man? He does have help, though. Christmas helpers watch over us all year and make toys for good kids. Even though he has two lists, Santa is still happy and kind, which is in line with the spirit of the season. Still, it’s always good to be kind.

People have different ideas about how Santa’s List Day came to be. It’s possible that Santa’s List Day is a mix of different stories and customs, just like the man himself. Today is Santa’s List Day, which means he makes a list of good and bad kids. This list helps him decide what to get each kid for Christmas. Let’s look at the past of Santa to figure out how Santa’s List Day got started. Folklore is a big part of where Santa Claus came from. His story goes back to many old Christmas traditions. We know him as the happy man in red who brings gifts to kids every Christmas.

A lot of people think that St. Nicholas, a monk who lived in the third century, was Santa Claus. St. Nicholas was known as the guardian of children and ships over time. The story of St. Nicholas has changed over time. In the 18th century, Dutch families got together to celebrate the death anniversary of “Sinterklaas,” which is Dutch for “St. Nicholas.” This is how the story of St. Nicholas made its way into American culture. Since the 1800s, giving gifts and Santa Claus’s part in it have been a part of Christmas. You could see Santa Claus in New York City’s streets, in shopping stores, and in ads.

It was Clement Mark Moore’s poem “Twas the Night Before Christmas” that made the difference. The poem talks about a happy old man who flew from house to house and easily slid up and down stairs to leave gifts for kids who deserve them, also known as the kids on his “nice list.”
