Varalakshmi Vrat 2023: The Varalakshmi Vrat is observed in order to obtain the special favours of the goddess Lakshmi. In general, devotees commence fasting rituals on the final Friday of Shukla Paksha in the month of Shravan. This day is dedicated to the goddess Lakshmi, to whom petitions are offered with great devotion. Additionally, on this day, some devotees organise a special Lakshmi Pooja to appease the goddess of fortune and prosperity. On this day, worshippers of the deity Lakshami can have their desires granted. Even the Goddess Parvati fasted for Lord Shiva, her spouse. Since then, women in India have observed Varalakshmi Vrat in the month of Shravana as a custom.
Importance Of Vrat
Varalaxmi Vratham is primarily observed by women in southern India. In Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, devotees commemorate this day in honour of the goddess Lakshmi during this well-known festival. This festival is also observed in the Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Orissa, and Maharashtra. Varalakshmi is one of the most powerful goddesses; therefore, married women venerate her. Typically, this festival is conducted in July or August. It is believed that those who perform the Varalakshmi Puja will receive wealth, excellent food, and the desired prosperity. Goddesses may also bestow longevity upon wedded women and their spouses.
The History of Vrat
On the day of Varalakshmi Pooja, married women rise early and clean their houses. Before beginning the day’s rituals, they outfit in brand-new, clean attire. In addition, they decorate the Puja chamber with various and colourful rangolis. Then, they position puja items in the room and the Goddess Lakshmi idol close to a home temple. On the container, a sandalwood paste-splattered Swastika symbol was drawn.
Maa Parvati asked her spouse, Lord Shiva, which vrat would be most beneficial to women and their families, according to the legend. In response, Lord Shiva told Charumati’s narrative. Charumati was a devotee of the goddess Lakshmi who was instructed by the goddess to observe the Varalakshmi Vrat. Charumati followed the goddess’s instruction and invited her acquaintances to participate in the Varalakshmi puja. At the conclusion of the puja, everyone was blessed with the desired fortune. Consequently, women perform Varalakshmi pooja to please the goddess Lakshmi.
