Lance Kerwin performed at the Spooky Empire event in Orlando, Florida, in October 2022. He was a guest on The Riley and Kimmy Show in that city, where he recalled his 1979 experience on the set of Salem’s Lot. This miniseries, one of the earliest Stephen King adaptations, was directed by Tobe Hooper (of Texas Chain Saw Massacre fame).

Savannah, Lance’s daughter, announced her father’s passing on Facebook on January 25. “My deepest condolences to those we were unable to personally notify, but Lance Kerwin passed away yesterday morning,” she stated. “We are appreciative of the outpouring of support, and we appreciate your prayers and remembrances. He held a particular place in his heart for each of you.”

Lance has endured a number of health issues, but the precise cause of his demise is unknown.

In June 2021, a friend of Lance’s created a GoFundMe to assist him in recovering from a back injury and unspecified additional challenges. Lance reacted with a heartfelt statement on the GoFundMe website, thanking everyone for their support.

“As I read this, I’m unsure if any funds will be raised, but I can’t help but reflect on how fortunate I am to have made friends early in life, some of whom became fans and attended my performances, but the majority of whom I still consider friends.” Additionally, Lance praised their mother and God for their children. Lance Kerwin had a Prolific Career as an Actor

Although he is most known to horror fans for his portrayal in Salem’s Lot, Lance played a number of significant parts during his career, including James in the NBC drama series James at 15. (later changed to James at 16). Even though the show was discontinued after only one season, it was praised for its delicacy in addressing the theme of coming of age.
