After 17 Seasons, ‘Rachael Ray’ Show Ends: “I’m Moving on”

The Food Network celebrity expressed appreciation for the 'great years' she and the rest of the Rachael daily show staff and affiliates had worked together.

Rachael Ray will no longer host The Rachael Ray Show. PEOPLE has confirmed that the celebrity chef’s syndicated daytime talk show will end after 17 seasons. In her Friday statement to PEOPLE, the 54-year-old 30 Minute Meals actress says, “I’ve had 17 fantastic seasons working in daytime television with Rachael during my more than 20 years on television.” I’ve decided, however, that it’s time to advance to the next exciting phase of my broadcasting career, so I’m moving on.

“My passions have shifted from the talk show format production and syndication model to an unrestricted platform,” Ray said, revealing that she will focus on her new production company. “I am truly ecstatic to have the opportunity to showcase and cultivate fresh and emerging epicurean talent across all platforms. As a result, I am eager to devote all of my efforts to Free Food Studios, my newly-launched production company.

The Food Network celebrity expressed appreciation for the “great years” she and the rest of the Rachael daily show staff and affiliates had worked together. Since its debut in 2006, Ray’s talk show has featured an assortment of pop culture news, musical performances, cooking demonstrations, and celebrity interviews at the kitchen table of the set.

“Rachael’s afternoon show was a game-changer when it premiered seventeen years ago. According to Steve LoCascio, president of CBS Media Ventures, who was the first to break the news on Friday, she made cooking accessible to the general public, provided viewers with straightforward advice on how to improve their lives, and elicited fascinating stories from celebrity guests with her approachable, humble demeanour.

According to Deadline, production of the programme will cease following its seventeenth season. In March 2020, when the covid-19 epidemic struck, Ray began filming her daily talk show from her home in Lake Luzerne, New York. She initially hesitated because her upstate residence had become a refuge from the limelight.

In September 2021, Ray told me, “Our home was a light switch where we turned off business mode and dealt with our personal lives.”

I would spend time caring for my family or close friends at home, writing, reading, and practising photography. Even though he is a lawyer by day, my partner would spend the entire day in his recording studio.

Only the two of us comprised our tiny universe. Suddenly, we were required to admit everyone. In August of 2020, a fire ember that had fallen from the chimney and landed on the roof caused Ray’s 15-year-old home to burn to the ground. Ray revealed in September 2021 on The Rachael Ray Show that it took her and her husband, John Cusimano, an entire year to restore the house.
