Apple Greenlights Twitter’s Transition to ‘X’: A New Era of Innovation Unveiled

Apple typically prohibits developers from naming their applications with a single character, but an exception to this rule is possible.

Apple Greenlights Twitter’s Transition to ‘X’: Twitter, the application, has officially changed its name in the App Store to X after weeks of alterations to its social accounts, branding on its user interface, a website redirect, and much noise from its owner. Apple typically prohibits developers from naming their applications with a single character, but an exception to this rule is possible.

Twitter updated the appearance of its iOS and Android applications last week by replacing the avian logo with the new “X” symbol and modifying the app images in the App Store. The company desired to change its official moniker but was unable to do so on the App Store.

Apple Greenlights Twitter’s Transition to ‘X’: A New Era of Innovation Unveiled

This is due to a bug in App Store Connect, the portal through which programmers can manage their applications, which precludes them from utilising single-character names.

Apple appears to have granted an exemption to Elon Musk’s X Corp., the legitimate owner of Twitter, so that the app may have a single-letter moniker. We have requested comment from Apple and will update this article if we receive one.

Additionally, X changed the slogan for its App Store from “Let’s speak” to “Blaze Your Glory!! Its significance is obscure. Without supplying context, Musk tweeted the phrase above.

Twitter’s rebranding for iOS was met with some opposition, but the app’s renaming to X and logo redesign were well received.Last week, TechCrunch reported that X abruptly seized control of the @x account. As a “reflection of our appreciation,” the company gave the user a tour of the X headquarters and a number of X products in lieu of payment.

Additionally, X is renaming its paid membership programme from Twitter Blue to X Blue. In order to accommodate a greater number of customers, the company has increased the maximum duration of videos that can be uploaded to its subscription service from two hours in May to three.
