That evening, the athletic director at Southington High, Steve Risser, delivered the unfortunate news.

Chuck had devoted four decades to coaching football in the state, during which he served as an assistant coach at Southington High School, where he had previously worked extensively at Pomperaug High School.

Additionally, the accident involved Chuck’s wife, Clare, who is currently hospitalized due to her injuries.

Chuck had recently assumed the position of assistant coach at Southington High School, where he collaborated with his son, Mike Drury.

His decision to transfer after a lengthy tenure at Pomperaug High School demonstrated his unwavering commitment to both athletics and his family.

Collectively, they attained exceptional accomplishments, including the state championships in 2013 and 2014.
