Death Penalty Possible for Man Accused of Wynter Cole-Smith Murder

Sunday, he allegedly assaulted the mother of a 2-year-old girl in Lansing and abducted the child. Trice was apprehended in St. Clair Shores on Monday after allegedly fleeing from police and crashing a stolen vehicle he was operating. Wynter was not present during his detention. As a result, an Amber Alert was issued.

The alleged killer of 2-year-old Wynter Cole-Smith could become the first person executed in Michigan since 1938, according to a tweet from WXYZ Detroit.

Trice is anticipated to face murder allegations in connection with the incident. During an interrogation, Trice told police that he and Wynter’s mother fought over money and stabbed each other. The girl’s mother was able to escape and depart from the building.

On 2 July, Trice is suspected of abducting Wynter; an AMBER Alert was issued. The body of the young infant was discovered on July 5. Trice referred to himself as a demon and intended to commit suicide during his interrogation.

The pink phone charging wire found next to Wynter’s body in the alley suggests she was strangled to death. Wynter’s body also contained fragments of it. The cause of death has not yet been determined by the coroner.
