Diego Verdaguer Obituary: Diego Verdaguer, an Argentine singer-songwriter best known for the hits “Volveré,” “Corazon de Papel,” and “Yo te Amo,” died as a consequence of COVID-19 complications. He was 70 years old.

Verdaguer passed away on Thursday afternoon in Los Angeles. In December, the artist Diego Verdaguer was hospitalized after contracting an infection.

His remains will be incinerated in Los Angeles, where he lived for several years. His wife, the famous vocalist Amanda Miguel, and their musically talented daughter Ana Victoria survive him.

Verdaguer was born in Buenos Aires on April 26, 1951. She made her solo debut at the age of 17 with the composition “Lejos del amor,” which was followed by “Yo te amo” and “Volveré.”

Since 1980, he had lived in Mexico; the country received the Latin Grammy-nominated tribute albums “Mexicano hasta las Pampas,” “Mexicano hasta las Pampas 2,” and “Mexicansimos.”

“I assure you I am more Mexican than anything else. In a 2019 interview with The Associated Press, the musician stated, “I love Mexico, I love what Mexico has meant to me throughout my life, and I love the opportunities that Mexico has afforded me.

Verdaguer and Miguel first met when he was 24 and she was 18. In 1983, he had a daughter named Ana Victoria.

In recognition of his 50-year career, the Mexican Society of Authors and Composers awarded Verdaguer a special distinction in 2019. In recent years, Verdaguer has transitioned to streaming and garnered more than 2 million social media followers.
