A stolen 2002 Nissan Altima was one of the first vehicles hauled to the surface, according to Detective Alvaro Zabaleta, the MDPD spokesperson present at the scene. He added, “Some of these cars have been down there for a long time,” mentioning a Cadillac from the 1980s among the discoveries.
The search was initiated after receiving information that multiple vehicles may be submerged near 13 Terrace Northwest and 89 Court. Divers utilised bright orange inflatables to designate the location of the submerged cars.
The vehicles were then secured to cables and transported away by Roadway Inc., a local towing company. The police encourage anyone with information about this incident to contact Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
