Just days after the cause of death was identified, it was determined that Jacky Oh’s death was accidental.

Tuesday, October 3, the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner ruled the death of the Wild ‘N Out star “accidental due to complications from cosmetic surgery.” This was confirmed by a Miami Police Department spokesman. According to the Miami Police Department, her death on May 31, at the age of 33, will not be the subject of a criminal investigation.

TMZ was the first to report the news. The former MTV personality, born Jacklyn Smith, whose age was previously believed to be 32 but whose birth date was listed as November 5, 1989, died of complications related to cosmetic surgery, the Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed.

At the time of her passing, a BET Media Group spokesperson issued the following statement: “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Jacklyn Smith, also known as Jacky Oh, a talented member of the Wild ‘N Out family whose impact will be forever cherished and missed.”

During all five seasons of Wild ‘N Out, Jacky Oh was a beloved colleague and devoted companion to the cast. Importantly, she was a wonderful mother to three lovely children.

“The BET Media Group extends our sincere condolences to the Smith family, DC Young Fly, B Simone, Nick Cannon, and all friends who loved and cared for Jacky Oh during this difficult time,” the closing line of the statement read.

In 2015, Jacky Oh, who joined the Wild ‘N Out cast in 2014 and appeared on the show for five seasons, met DC Young Fly. Since then, they have been together.

Nova, Nala, and Prince are the three offspring of the couple. DC Young Fly, whose actual name is John Whitfield, and his family released the following statement after her death: “We thank everyone for their condolences and request privacy during this difficult time.”

A month later, he appeared on The Steve Harvey Morning Show and discussed his continued adjustment to his partner’s untimely demise. According to DC Young Fly, there is no human secret to dealing with difficulties when real life strikes. “And I think a lot of people don’t know real life — you make and create how your life can go today, but you don’t know where your life is going tomorrow.”

As he added, “Once I realized I cannot control life and its surrounding circumstances, but I can control my spirit — it’s the one thing I do have control over — I don’t care about anything.”

The comedian confessed, “From day to day, I have no idea what I’ll be doing. I can only praise God that I still have the ability to reason.”

After exiting the program, Jacky Oh created her own lip gloss company and sold real estate. Odell Beckham Jr., who met his ex-girlfriend Lauren Wood through Jacky Oh, was also among those who paid their respects. At the time of her departure, he posted a statement from her family to his Instagram Story.

“It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of Jacklyn aka MsJackyOh’s passing on May 31, 2023,” the statement read. “Our family is still processing this very tragic and unexpected loss; we ask that you please give us privacy during this time,” the statement reads.

Beckham Jr., age 30, also posted a remark on X regarding the loss, writing, “Every day is a gift. Tomorrow cannot be guaranteed. Angel, you may now rest easy. We adore You”

He continued, “Don’t take life for granted; we’re only here for a moment. Please show your loved ones affection while they are still alive.”

The MTV actress was subsequently transferred to Mercy Hospital in Miami after police were summoned “in reference to a female who was unresponsive.” Then, “despite resuscitative efforts,” she was declared deceased, according to the report.
