Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren says government on firm footing

Hemant Soren said this during a marathon meeting held at his official residence on Saturday. The meeting was called to show the unity among the UPA partners and Hemant Soren must have gauged the mood of MLAs.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has cautioned MLAs of the UPA alliance that the BJP was trying to destabilize the government, but his government is on a firm footing and the BJP would have to eat a humble pie.

Hemant Soren said this during a marathon meeting held at his official residence on Saturday. The meeting was called to show the unity among the UPA partners and Hemant Soren must have gauged the mood of MLAs.

The threat is lurking upon the membership of Hemant Soren in the Jharkhand assembly as he is facing an inquiry in the office of the profit matter for obtaining a mining lease in his name. The Election Commission of India has completed the hearing of this case and the verdict is likely to arrive soon.

“We don’t know what is in the mind of the Chief Minister. There is word and no inkling whether the CM has made up his mind about his successor in case he loses his membership. We don’t know what is going to happen and to what extent an adverse ruling of ECI can affect his political career and the political templates of Jharkhand. But why would he discuss all these things at this moment? But he categorically said that the BJP was destabilizing the government and it is time to stay united,” an MLA of the ruling alliance said.

The CM further stated that a BJP opposition has left no stone unturned to create a bad perception about his government despite the fact that the government has performed remarkably well which won appreciation including the management during the Covid 19 pandemic.

The meeting discussed the issue of drought-like conditions in Jharkhand and he urged MLAs to coordinate with the government and the local administration so that immediate steps are taken.

The issue of appointment against vacant posts of board and corporation was also raised. The CM assured that he would soon address the demands of MLAs and supporting alliances. During the meeting, MLAs talked about the proposal to convert the Sadar hospital of districts into a model hospital by improving infrastructure and other facilities. The issue of OBC reservation was also discussed.
