Kelsea Ballerini’s Shocking Incident: Hit in the Face While Performing

When Kelsea Ballerini was struck in the face while performing in Idaho, she halted the performance temporarily. The country-pop singer performed at the Outlaw Field of the Idaho Botanical Garden in Boise on Wednesday, June 28. Ballerini was struck in the face by an unidentified object thrown by a fan during a performance of her 2022 song “If You Go Down.”

The 29-year-old singer was required to abruptly interrupt her live performance in order to address the tragic event. She continued playing the acoustic guitar while facing the audience from the back of the stage before signalling with her hand “stop” and departing. According to a TikTok posted by an audience member during Ballerini’s performance, she commented on the incident when she returned to the stage.

“Can we just talk about what happened?” Ballerini spoke to the audience. “My only concern is ensuring everyone’s safety. If you ever feel unsafe, please inform a nearby person.”

“Always raise the alarm if someone is exerting undue pressure or if you have a hunch about it. Do not hurl objects. You know what I mean?”

Some commentators assert that the object hurled at the performer was a friendship bracelet, although this has not been officially confirmed.

Ballerini’s official fan account posted a video of the incident to social media with a disclaimer against hurling objects at or at artists.

This follows a string of recent incidents in which female musicians were accosted or pelted with objects while performing. Bebe Rexha was struck in the head with a phone during a performance in New York, resulting in a black eye and the need for sutures.

A few days later, Ava Max received a stage incursion slap while singing in Los Angeles. Then, while Pink was performing at the British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park, London, a fan spilled their mother’s ashes onto the stage, which perplexed Pink.
