Security personnel took out a flag march on Monday on Main Road in the wake of Muharram and World Indigenous Day tomorrow.
Deputy Commissioner Rahul Sinha and SSP Kaushal Kishore led the march.
The flag march was organized after deployment of security personnel at all the strategic locations in the district. Over two thousand security personnel have been deployed across the district. These security personnel included jawans of the Jharkhand Jaguar and the district police besides the Jharkhand Armed Police, India Reserve Battalion and others,
All the security personnel are under the control of over hundred magistrates deputed to monitor law and order in the city.
Although this time it has been decided collectively in the meeting of the Central Peace Committee that there will be no Muharram procession in the main road, officer -in-charges of all the police stations have been instructed to continuously patrol their respective areas and take those into custody where they are found, creating any dispute. Apart from this, an arrangement for drone surveillance has also been made.
Earlier on Sunday, a mock drill was organized for police personnel at Police Line campus, where an atmosphere of hubbub and ruckus was created and police personnel were asked to control the crowd. During the mock drill the police fiercely used lathis on the angry crowd of miscreants making the uproar and attacking the police despite the use of water cannons and tear gas shells. During the drill, the police personnel were noticed detaining miscreants.
Police in the city are taking special precaution as a few days ago the city has witnessed violence in which two died and a PIL related to it is still pending before the Jharkhand High Court.
The capital police are in alert mode. Arrangement of special vigilance has been done in the sensitive areas and police officers have been given special instruction to ensure that incidents like June 10 should not get repeated.
