The winter weather expected to reach Southeast Michigan this week will bring a variety of weather conditions, including snow, rain, sleet, or something else. It may be difficult to predict exactly what conditions homeowners will experience.
On Wednesday at noon, a wintry mix is predicted, with additional snow in the north and more rain in the south. The entire Southeast region of Michigan will be under a Winter Weather Watch until Thursday morning.
The weather may make driving difficult, and there may be power outages in metropolitan neighbourhoods. More than 14,000 customers were still without power as of 5:10 p.m. despite the presence of more than 1,800 field personnel.
DTE keeps track of outages using a map that is updated as new power outages are reported. This map displays DTE Energy. DTE provides service to a significant portion of Southeast Michigan and monitors outages centred there. On the corporate page, businesses and residents will be enclosed in various colours. Green indicates 100 to 500 customers without power, yellow 500 to 1,500, orange 1,501 to 2,500, and red 2,501 or more.
Purple indicates fewer than 100 customers without power. By entering your address on the outage map, you can find out if there is an outage in your area. If the outage you’re experiencing isn’t already listed on the DTE website, you can report it by clicking “report outage.” On DTE’s map, you can report a downed power line, track the status of your outage, and view an estimated time for its restoration.
