Tuesday and Wednesday will be the warmest days of the week with high temperatures of 104 degrees, followed by Thursday with a high temperature of 102 degrees. Tuesday’s maximum temperature in the Tri-Cities is predicted by the Weather Channel to reach 109 degrees. Based on records dating back more than a century, the record high temperature for that day, August 15, in the Tri-Cities was 104 degrees, recorded in 2021.

The hottest days in Tri-Cities so far this summer were July 15 and 20, when the maximum temperature reached 104 degrees. In its heat watch advisory, the weather service advises, “Be prepared to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check on relatives and neighbours.” The limited cooling effect of overnight temperatures will make the heat wave more hazardous.

Monday night through Thursday night will have lows between 70 and 72 degrees, according to the weather service. According to the weather service, typical highs for the third week of August are about 91 degrees and normal lows are about 56 degrees. July is typically the warmest month of the year in the Tri-Cities.

On at least one summer day during the previous three years, temperatures exceeded 110 degrees Fahrenheit, including a high of 115 in 2021.
