Villagers made aware of power conservation in DVC’s Bijli Mahotav at Latehar

Latehar Deputy Commissioner Bhor Singh Yadav, who was present on the occasion, made villagers aware of the purpose of the programme.

People in the extremist-hit district Latehar were on Thursday made aware of power conservation during Bijli Mahotsav organized at Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Nagar Bhawan (Town Hall).

Inaugurating the programme, local MLA Ramchandra Singh motivated the people to make maximum use of renewable energy sources of electricity. Along with this, information was given about various schemes and achievements including an increase in power generation capacity, use of renewable energy sources, electricity (rights of consumers), the scheme started for the adoption of solar pumps.

Latehar Deputy Commissioner Bhor Singh Yadav, who was present on the occasion, made villagers aware of the purpose of the programme.

“Electricity Festival is being celebrated all over the country under the Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya-Power at 2047 Festival so that there is maximum public participation and development of the power sector can be done by the citizens in a big way,” he said.

DC Yadav also stressed on the use of renewable energy. “At present, the use of solar energy is increasing rapidly, which is not only good for us but also for nature. We should use renewable energy,” he said before asking people to not waste the energy for a better future.

During the program, the villagers were told about the benefits of electricity. They were made aware of the benefits of renewable energy through street plays. A film made on the achievements of the Ministry of Power was screened.

With the aim of celebrating 75 years of India’s independence in the Amrit Mahotsav year of Independence, the Electricity Festival is being organized in many districts of the state by the Ministry of Power, Government of India in collaboration with the Government of Jharkhand. So that there is maximum public participation and the development of the power sector can be reached to the citizens at large.

Deputy Director (HR) of Damodar Valley Corporation Ravi Prakash Tiwari was present to conduct the programme.
