1300 Property Tax Refund: Find Out When You’ll Receive It

Minnesota residents can apply for a $1,300 rebate stimulus check in August, aimed at addressing unclaimed tax returns and ensuring proper recipients receive their money.

1300 Property Tax Refund: In August, Minnesota residents who were qualified could apply for a $1,300 rebate stimulus check. This was an effort by the Minnesota Department of Revenue to give out money from unclaimed tax returns. This program was made because last year, about 128,000 refund checks were never cashed and were never claimed. This made the government want to make sure that the proper recipients got their money.

The Minnesota Property Tax Refund (M1PR) program is linked to the rebate check. Although August 15 was the original deadline for applying, residents can still apply until that same day in the following year.

Trump’s plan to cut income taxes on Social Security could have a significant impact, here’s how

Applications that were submitted by the first deadline will have their refunds processed by late September or early October. The procedure can take up to 60 days for submissions made after that.

The most current addresses listed on file from residents’ tax forms receive the freshly issued checks. The validity of these checks is good for two years after they are issued, so receivers have plenty of time to cash them.

Using tax data from 2021, this initiative is a follow-up to a legislative action from May 2023. With a budget of around $1 billion, the program seeks to assist everyone who was not able to receive their refunds the previous year. Payments commenced in November 2023, however, a reissue of checks began in February 2024 to reach the 128,000 impacted persons because of the volume of uncashed checks.

Who is eligible for the refund?

Married couples filing jointly can receive an extra $520, while single filers can receive a rebate of $1,300. Additionally, there is an additional $260 for each claimed dependent, up to a maximum of three.

It’s important to know that the people who receive the money will get an IRS Form 1099-MISC that they need to include on their 2023 tax returns. Also, these payments are taxed.

If you send your claim online, it will be processed faster, and you might get your refund in less than 60 days.
