CalWORKs September 2025 payment: Here’s when your Payment arrives

CalWORKs beneficiaries in California will receive their September 2025 food stamp payments according to the state’s EBT schedule.

CalWORKs September 2025 payment: The CalWORKs program run by the California Department of Social Services helps families every month with cash so they can pay for important things like food, rent and lights. This money goes to families who qualify and it is meant to make sure children and parents have some support. Along with the cash, families can also get other help like child care, job training, medical support and housing help if they need it.

By September 2025, the way families get this money will follow a set order. The state will not send everyone money on the same day. Instead, the day depends on the case number of each family. So one family might see money on the first of the month and another family might see it a few days later. The deposits happen through the EBT card, which is the same card people use to get CalFresh food stamps.

How they decide the date?

The date of the deposit is not random. It comes from the last number on the family’s case file. If the case number ends with 1, the family will see money on September 1. If the case number ends with 2, the money shows up on September 2. If it ends with 3, then it is September 3, and so on until September 10. Every county in California follows this plan but some counties may have very small changes. Still, almost all families will get their money between September 1 and September 10.

Families can always find their case number in their program papers or by asking the local county worker who handles their case. They can also check the number online at BenefitsCal.com or just call their social services office. It is important because that one number tells them exactly when their EBT card will get loaded.

Who is Eligible to get CalWORKs?

CalWORKs is only for families in California who have children under 18 and do not earn more money than the program rules allow. The family also has to live in California to keep the help. The money does not come once and stop, it comes every month as long as the family still qualifies. The help is not just money, it can also be services like help with work training or finding a safe place to live.
