Emergency Food Stamps Texas: Learn how to receive additional payment if you were impacted by Hurricane Beryl

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission approves SNAP recipients for replacement benefits for food lost or destroyed during storms, applying to Lone Star Cards within two business days.

Emergency Food Stamps Texas: Governor Greg Abbott declared that the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) has received federal approval for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients to apply for replacement benefits for food lost or destroyed during the storms, following last week’s severe weather and flooding.

Applications for replacement benefits are accepted from SNAP participants who lost food beginning on May 16. Within two business days of approval, these advantages will be applied to their Lone Star Cards.

Governor Abbott announced that affected Texans will be eligible to apply for SNAP replacement benefits for food that was lost or destroyed during these destructive storms. This is because of the recent extreme weather and flooding that ravaged communities across our state.

By calling 2-1-1, qualified Texans can apply for these benefits. To make sure Texans have the services they need to recuperate and move on from these storms, I thank the Texas Health and Human Services Commission for collaborating with our federal colleagues.”

Emergency Food Stamps Texas: The application deadline

For applicants in the counties of Austin, Chambers, Colorado, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, and Waller, the deadline is June 17.

SNAP Food Stamps July 2024: How can You Get $291 Before the End of the Week?

People who would like to apply should call 211 and choose Option 2. Alternatively, they can fill out Form H1855, which is an Affidavit for Nonreceipt or Destroyed SNAP Benefits, and send it by mail to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission at 877-447-2839 or by fax to P.O. Box 149027, Austin, TX 78714-9027.
