Extra Food Stamps for Summer: Which States are Providing Extra Payments on Eligible EBT Cards for Summer EBT Program?

Summer EBT, a program similar to Pandemic EBT, provides food benefits to qualifying kids in California during the summer, aiming to reduce hunger.

Extra Food Stamps for Summer: Summer EBT, formerly known as SUN Bucks, is a program created to give qualifying kids food benefits throughout the summer. This program provides $120 in food benefits to each qualifying kid to minimize child hunger when children lose access to free or reduced-price meals.

With a few modifications, the Summer EBT program has been launched, akin to the Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) program terminated in 2023. For the Summer EBT 2024 program, a variety of states, territories, and tribes are taking part, including American Samoa, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Cherokee Nation, Chickasaw Nation, and many more. As new details come to light, the list of regions that are taking part is updated regularly.

$4873 Social Security: How can You get the maximum benefit?

It is important to remember that not every state will take part in the Summer EBT 2024 initiative. In 2024, this program will not be available in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Oklahoma, Mississippi, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. It is possible, nevertheless, that these states will decide to take part in the program in subsequent years.

If a child’s home receives food stamps or SNAP benefits, they are immediately eligible for Summer EBT/SUN Bucks. Additionally, in the majority of states, if a household meets certain criteria, children are automatically eligible.

Important information about Extra Food Stamps for Summer

While the two programs are comparable, there are some distinctions for those who participated in the prior P-EBT program and are unsure if they are eligible for Summer EBT 2024. Certain kids who were given P-EBT automatically will have to apply for Summer EBT.

Freedom Summer Savings Florida: What can You get on Florida’s Tax Free Days?

Children attending “community eligibility” schools who aren’t qualified just by their household receiving SNAP benefits are included in this. It is advisable to think about applying if there is any doubt regarding eligibility.

Summer EBT is a good program that helps fight kid hunger in the summer. To help low-income families, it is very helpful because it focuses on giving food subsidies to kids who apply. Families need to stay informed and use the tools they have access to while we find out more about the areas where people can participate and be eligible.
