For those who possess a Green Card or are lawful permanent residents (LPRs), there is a five-year waiting period. people with a minimum one-year parole term, conditional entrants, and battered non-citizens.

However, in the following cases, there might not be any waiting period at all: a child under the age of 18, blind or disabled and receiving benefits for assistance for your condition, legally residing in the United States and 65 years of age or older as of August 22, 1996, having a military connection to the United States, or being an Afghan or Ukrainian granted parole.
