Who Can Claim from Credit One Bank’s $14 Million Settlement? Find Out How

Credit One Bank settled a big lawsuit for $14 million, settling a big lawsuit alleging robocalls without permission, violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

Credit One Bank Settlement: Credit One Bank and its related companies have agreed to pay $14 million to settle a big lawsuit. This lawsuit says the bank made thousands of robocalls from 2014 to 2019 without asking for permission first. These calls are made by using automatic dialing systems and prerecorded messages.

The calls came to many people including those who never had an account in the bank. People said they never gave the bank permission to call them. This may have broken the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), a federal law that protects people from unwanted automated calls. Even though Credit One Bank does not admit it did anything wrong, it has agreed to give money to people who received these calls.

Who Can Get Compensation From Credit One Bank?

If you want to get money from this settlement, you need to meet certain conditions. Both personal and business account holders with Credit One Bank can apply. You must have had an active Credit One Bank account during the years when these calls were made.

You also need to show proof that you used your Credit One credit card during that time. If you had any financial loss or fees because of these calls, you should provide documents to prove it. The court will give money between $100 and $1,000 to each eligible person.

How to Submit a Claim?

This process will start after the court gives its final approval of the settlement. After that, a special website will be set up to handle claims and offer help to those affected.

These are the information requirements for the clients submitting their claims:

  • Full legal and valid contract information
  • Phone number(s) that received the robocalls
  • Dates or aproximate period when calls were received (if known)
  • Any other supporting documents (optional)
  • Declaration under penalty of prejury affirming the claim’s truthfulness

Those who take no action and do not file a claim will lose their right to compensation.

When Will You Get Paid?

Right now, the court has not decided when people will receive their settlement money. The court will set a date for payment later. Before that happens, people have to send in all the papers and information needed to prove they were affected. If you do not show the required documents then you might lose the chance to get money.
